Lightings!!

Hi bros,

Can anyone advice me on wad type of lightings for my aquarium?

My Specs:

2 ft x 14" x 1 ft

Livestock:

1 x tomato clown

2 x true percula clown

1 x cleaner shrimp

1 x hermit crab

1 x bicolor angel

1 x damsel

2 x BTA (1 big 1 small)

1 x button polyp

Your tank height only 1 ft so I think you can try pl lights or T5's .

Maybe other reefers can shed more light on this matter.

Dun tell me you using NO now.

The anemone and button, need some decent lights. Go get a at least 2 tube of T5, 1 x actinic and 1 x 20000K or 10000K with E-ballast. Better will be 4 tube.

I guess the anemone and button will expand as they dun have enuf lights.

if it is 1ft in height...i dun see wad is the prob using T5s NO...

anemone is a light demanding invert and it usually is not recommand for 2 feet .

i would recommand u use 2 x HO T5 ( with actinic and 10,000k at least)

other than ur anemone, i think a Pl ( 2 x 55 watts will be great for viewing pleasure) ,

heat can be brind down with just fan. if u intend for a chiller , can consider MH. but again , i rec HO T5.

if my tank is 1.5ft in height...can i use 55W PL light?

will the amount of K makes any difference? i wil be going for a fowlr tank.

FOWLR just need sufficiently lights for you to see the fishes that's all. 55W PL will be sufficient, suggest to use 10kk so at least not so yellow compared to 6.5k

kelvin rating are more of a concern for coral tanks. Where a higher K will helps promote coloration, lower K helps with growth.

with your FOWLR there ain't any particular here, but just avoid those reddish ones for arowana/goldfish HTH

thinking of changing to the artnic blue tube...
