hi all i am new and i need help finding a good skimmer...i read that a triple-pass skimmer (c/w venturi) floor standing is quite good...so many different types...so confused

welcome to src. there r quite a few kinds of skimmer in the market. depends on ur budget and preference. cost can range from a few dollars to thousand of dollars.

juz to give u a rough guide,

1. beckett skimmer

2. spray injection skimmer

3. needlewheel skimmer

4. downdraft skimmer

5. venturi skimmer

6. mazzei injector skimmer

7. air stone skimmer

etc, etc, etc.......

Try reading the sticky threads, they might be of some help.

hi all my budget is about $300 i am willing to wait and save till i have enough cause i would like to add a ozone generator later...one thing at a time...budget, budget

if you are bend on using ozone then look up to those skimmers that are ozone safe lor. save you alot of headache down the road

bought a baby5000 shorty II, the bubbles seems not compact and powerful. Quite dissapointed.
