Had been running one return pump since yesterday. However, it seems to be very noisy. Any bro got any idea. BTW, should the overflow tank area be full, my have only very little water in the overflow. My sump is filled up to 3/4 height.

Hi Bro,

Sorry for been so quiet for awhile. Had been busy with work. Just tested my SG/PPT and the reading is 1.026/35%.

Went to bought my first batch of LR. Total weight is 39kg. Spend about 2 hours doing up the first scaping. Here is one taken using my P900. Not so clear will take again tomorrow morning.

bro, keyword "patience" Don' rush.

For me, during cycling period. I run my tank almost more than a month!

Check your water parameters after the cycling period. DON't add any livestocks yet.

Maybe u can consider adding more liverocks.

keep the pics coming!

Your tank size is very good. 3ft by 3ft, lots of space to play around with. Might need more rocks in your tank.

Lets say. . run your system for another month? It depends really, i know pple who run their tanks for two weeks and i also know pple who run their tanks for 6 months without putting anything.

the left side of your scapes looks dangerous..

try not to lean it again the tank/overflow in this case..

try to secure all the rocks..give it a lil nudge and see if it will topple..

fishes can knock on the rocks and cause chaos

Thanks Jem. Will take note and shift the rock.

Bro, saw somewhere in the forum that ppl added a prawn from the market to jump start the cycling. Is that a must or I can just let the water run for a month?

Saw a small green mushroom appear on my sand bed today. Will it survive?

I turned on my skimmer today and saw alot of micro bubble forming in my sump. This bubble got suck up to my main tank via my return pump. Is this ok?

Thanks for all the advise.

the market prawn is to speed up the cycling process..but u have to monitor the water parameters closely..

its not a must but most people does it to speed up the process of the breaking down of nitrates..

the small mushroom will survive depending on your parameters and lightings..

does the mushroom appears to be fully open or shrivelled up?

you can add "stockings, socks, coconut bag" at the outlet of your skimmer to help to reduce the number of microbubbles

just my limited knowledge :)
