Hi there,

Just wanting to find out what are everyones preference on the grade of sand to include in the tank...i know some have taken the bare bottom route and I have opted for a shallow sand bed for aesthetic purpose and was wondering what most have to say about the different grades of sand...i've looked at the grade 0 and 1 and still deciding between the two. Was wondering what ya'lls opinion were on this?

so fire away.... :peace:

I use grade 1 sand in my tank and it does not really get affected by the tunze

Try not to get too big grain sizes as if you plan to have a cuke, they might not accept large sand grains

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

A mixture of 2 grades of sand would be preferable to prevent the compaction of sandbeds overtime especially if you are planning for a DSB. Grade 0 is too fine in my opinion..maybe a mixture of grade 1 and 2 might be good.

Always something more important than fish.
