IMO:

I believe the fish color fading is highly related to their nutrients taking.

You have to do a research onto that species, chk out their diet.

You probably missed out something, or the fish diet is not fully study by researchers. Likely you have to test and trial with the diet.

You need to get additives for your tank's nutrients. Like trace elements, Iodine, maybe some other stuff I not using. This the two I used. Otherwise fishes and reefs will loss it coloration.

Equipment:

Thanks on your information on nutrients. However I have been feeding all of my fishes (FOWLR) with Formula 1 and occasionally formula 2. I have stop feeding them with frozen food for quite some time....

I have started using trace element one week ago (first dose) and is intending to use weekly as recommended. Hopefully will gain back the vabriant colours...btw it seems like my blue face has milky eyes now and I am now performing hypo in the main tank (with 1 YT and 6 f.clowns). I am thinking of moving the blue face and house it in a Q.tank(yet to set up...) as the other fishes are ok. I think the B.F must have gotten the ich from the up the lorry PDBlue tang...never have any success in this species though...always have ich....any advise to share from the old timers.....

Yes Hypo removes ich and parasites.

Your BF with milky eyes means it has weak immune system and are parasite prone. I'm not good at curing milky eyes but have successfully removed ich with hypo.

I mixed food with garlic until fish is healthy again. I no longer apply medication, as it never seems to save my fishes but make matter worst.

I notice fishes that are not eating have very low chances of survival when they are sick. Once they eat, they have very good chance.

bro...if ur fishes are feeding very well..jus give it some garlic enhancement food..

it will recover in no time...or u can try a product called marine max..is under the brand of tropical science...very effective..heard that it can extend the fish's life too.. :P

Btw do u have any experience on treating milking eyes?Has been 4 days and it's turning red beneath that milky layer......

Anyone can advise as well.....been with me for 8 mths...dun want to lose it..

Ps: am using myxazin now...2 doses over 2 days...

Loss of colouration overtime is due to nutritional deficiencies. Your best bet would to be feed it foods that are rich in highly unsaturated fatty acids like chopped squid or prawns. Not to forget the carotenoids that help to maintain reddish pigmentation and their role as antioxidants. Food that contain carotenoids include cyclopeeze and spirulina.

Always something more important than fish.

Hi,

I think u can get them is most of the shops, price wise is vary from shop to shop, should be around $10 to $12.

It can be use as main food, for me I altenately feed with my OSI spirulina flake and Formula 1 or 2.
