SRC Member tineng Posted September 9, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 it could be a spy ware instead of a virus....go microsoft and download their free anti-spyware program.....
SRC Member wolfie Posted September 9, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 i'm quite sure it's a virus cause both norton and avg anti-virus progs detected it as a trojan horse virus... i can't del it in windows, i can't del it in command prompt. meanwhile, i've used both ad-aware and spybot to cross scan my system. so with this bugger left out, i'm certain he's the root of my problem. nonetheless, thanks tineng for your suggestion. SRC Member tineng Posted September 9, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 the antivirus probably will let you know which file it cannot disinfeact.....try booting up the system in safe mode and manually delete the file....if not you have to find out the name of the virus and search the net for manual removal methods.... FuEl
Yea..find out the name of the virus. Then go sites like Symantec or Trend Micro which offer on-site manual instructions. Involves fiddling around with the registry and manually deleting the files though. Quite easy to follow if you got the time.
