shaohui75
Well, if you insist, you can, but you will have to take the risk of having dangerous minerals from the unknown rocks leaking into your water. On top of that, they are usually not porous which means, there will not be any beneficial bacterials growing inside them->mean no cleaning agents. SRC Member cornyfish Posted September 9, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 Hmmm.. if you really want, i guess its better to use the rocks picked up from the beach rather than from the roadside...

SRC Member diabolus Posted September 9, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 pls note that it is illegal to remove any Live Rocks from the seas. It is also illegal even if you use your own granite/dead rocks and put them into the sea to turn them into LRs.

SRC Member cornyfish Posted September 9, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted September 9, 2005 I picked up some coral skeletons from the beach several months ago, they look just like the usual live rocks, except they were all white, with no life growing on them.
