New pump

Hi all again...

Does all new pumps contain grease inside its motor???

I got a new pump today n found tat there is grease inside e pump motor..Isit normal???Shld i wash it off w soap or wat??????

Im running e pump in apail of water now.Aft awhile e pail of water have a layer of oil on top n have a grease smell....

Any advise on wat i shld do now to remove tis grease???Or is tis grease reef safe???hmm dun think there is tis type of grease???kekeke

Hi, yes certain brands of pumps do have grease on it.

Its best to remove all the grease, if not your skimmer will not funtion to optimum.

For me, i just simply wipe off the grease and its working fine now.

No worries.

If e grease gets in2 e main tank will it poison e fishes or affect them???

Is it harmful???
