Acro Capturing Food

One of my purple acro.

Almost died off. Now stable water parameter. 1st time ever see my acro capturing food.

What did you feed it?

DT oster eggs. But quite expensive. I have also seen others reacted in this way too but occassionally.

I've seen some of my acros have these elongated polyps too but I had always thought they were trying to be territorial.

Anyway, how's the oyster eggs doing for you?

Hmmm..can always strip the oyster or mussel yourself for the eggs. Will save you alot of $. Mussels are cheaper alternative. Those with orange tissue are the ones that contain eggs. Those with white tissue are...haha...I don't need to elaborate. For oysters both males and females have white gonads. You can release the eggs/sperm by slicing the gonad contents into a beaker. You can tell which are eggs just by the ###### eye.

I have got pix of my sps actuallly capturing cyclopeze. Will post them tonight if I can find out where I filed them in my old PC.

The problem is to see them capturing food, need to spray the food around and nutrient goes up in the water. Sigh...

Hi Bob, yah, exactly when i feed cyclopeeze, some other acros have the same effect.

Hope to have a macro len and it would be much clearer to show it.

Can we use for non zeovit system? How many times must we dose per day? Something similar to AA?

should be no issue as it is food for SPS.
