Hey guys,

I just got some colourful sponges, any idea how to take care of them?

Besides, not taking them out of the water (which I heard they will die if expose too long to air), what other things must I watch out for....

Feed them fat fat...then they can be put into the pot.

Place them in a shady corner.They dun need much light.

Light or no light does'nt matter. Just make sure you get them after you have solved any algae problems. Then place them somewhere with moderate current. You won't want debri settling onto them and choking them.

Thanks everyone! I wondered also those blue, yellow and colourful sponges we see, are they artificially coloured because they LOOK so artificial...

They need regular daily feedings of live phytoplankton or good quality substitutes. Sponges are filter-feeders so take care of them accordingly.

What about the temp? What's the max they can tolerate. How do u tell if they are doing well or not? I have a sponge in my tank but it seems to be shrinking although my other soft corals are doing quite well.
