i removed 2 big ones about a week back...

now i see lots of little ones!!!

best description :

adult was about 1cm,

shell is cream white,

looks like a fajita, not joined

very soft( i crushed one without knowing it)

body is creamy yellow...

head is triangular, looks like a cow actually :P

when disturbed, it lets out a lot of white mucus from its 'rear' end.

i found the babies in the midst of the grape caulerpa in my refugium

wish i could take a pic, but its too small.

ifs its not a good snail, i'm chucking the caulerpa clump <_<

:thanks:

day,

its not, its nothing i've seen before

astreas, trochus and turbos all have hard shells...

i picked this one up and the shell was soft,

like a fajita!

also the head extended very far, it looked like it had horns...

wondering if it might be a slug of some sort,

the weird thing has to be the white relaese of the mucus...

like a cuttlefish squirting ink..

only its milky white

ice...

sounds like it man <_<

maybe u somehow discovered or mutate a new type of snail :)

You can name the new discovered snail after you :D

If i not wrong...the younger snail have soft shell. As it has not harded over time yet ( due to lack of calcium? i think)

i think my small snail intially also got softer shell.

maybe give it some time, the shell would form to be harder.

Probably some maroalgae snails

I have those too, comes with Caulerpa most of the time. Seen more often o refugium walls than in the main tank. Fajita is the word to describe its oddly shaped shells.

Seemingly harmless but tend to die easily.

When they do, they'll float to water surface and release the chalky sustance right? The bigger ones stinks too.

I just remove any I see on water surface.

Bum,

I have lots of them too. Seems they came from my caulerpa. Exactly as you described. I tried to remove them and they give out white milk-like liquid. Soft-shell.

They die after a while and my sump now has lots of white shell. I leave them them.

I think (marine) therefore I am
