Hope u guys can help,

Had put in a Cockle just 2 days ago and the died today, don't know why but i'm suspecting the water contamination due to the Marine Snow, is there any expiry date.

It's been in the freezer for sometime now, not sure it might have affected it... in the meantime i've tried to regulate by changing 2 buckets of water. and have changed the poly filter and the Charcoal in the filteration system. Only the clam and a few of

I'll like some advice on any remedy on this situation??

Cockles thrive in nutrient laden waters. They won't survive in a reef tank for long anyway. Cockles also need mud as substrate, not coarse sand. Assuming you are talking about the cockle that we consume that is..

Always something more important than fish.

I tried keeping cockles for fun in my marine fish tank when I first started some years ago. They lasted the most 2 days. The worst thing was they rotted in the sand and fouled the water - very smelly too.

The salinity in a reef tank might be too high for it. Cockles are found naturally in mangrove areas where the water is brackish if I'm not wrong.

Thanks for the Update Fuel

i've read up, abt cockles and mussels and yes they need more care than i could give, but following this infor, i'd just like to share that after 2 years after opening the cap of the marine snow it is possible to be expired.

Right now, after having the Tank running with bacteria and flush with so much algae, i'm not able to keep the corals alive, they don't die immediately but they seem like they are going to die soon.

Salanity is 21

These are all optimal

Marine Trace elements

calacim

iodone

dKH

Lights

Artic Blue and White

Chiller

Resun CL280 @ 25C

i've got a star polyp, a hairy mushroom, a green button polyp and a blue Sponge

all have been bought last saturday

Both polyps have not opened fully, only one or 2,

The blue sponge seems to be degrading

and the hairy mushroom has not oppened fully.

Any ideas what i may do to imporve the situation guys?????:cry:

its been sometime since i restarted this hobby hopefully i don't want to begin with a failure....need help guys
