1) It's a kind of chemical filtration. Mixture of activated carbon and resins to removed dissolved substances.

2) A resounding Yes.

3) Affirmative.

Hmmm since it got carbon in it..... How long must i change the chemipure????

For carbon, I would recommend that they be changed out every 2 weeks or so. Any longer and bacteria will colonise the surface reducing it's efficiency or worse, the bacteria might start acting on the absorbed and adsorbed material, releasing it back into the water.

Chemipure would not be an exception unless it has antimicrobials in it, which would make it harmful to the tank so I doubt it.

Whao.. thank thank.. it is sort of same as biorings...... need to change every 6 months...

but are they sure we really no need to change water for yrs?????

I won't believe that claim for a moment. How can a manufacturer say something like that when every tank has a different bioload? Maybe if you keep nothing but rocks, then you can go without a water change for years.

Still must chg water lah. Mthly chgs are inevitable lah. But I think chemipure is a pretty gd product. Been using it for abt a mth now and so far so gd. Crystal clear water without the yellowish thinge and no need to replace as often as carbon. Think shd be able to last abt 6 mths
