SRC Member ozy Posted August 29, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 Maybe you got the rare "prata eating" blue tang. Nobody can really say why this happens. Probably like flame angels eating corals, the possibility is lower for blue tangs but not totally impossible.
SRC Member AREA51 Posted August 29, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 maybe theres some algae growth on the flesh?
SRC Member Nic a Jon Posted August 29, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 hmmmm...let me go back and check if there algae growing on the flesh...all i know its a very healthy prata... I had another prata (that was stressed) placed in the sump for 2 days, and can see its flesh opening up well again. For the longest time i was wondering wot happened to my pratas..till i saw the behaviour of the BT last nite...maybe its a rare "prata eating" tang . thanks bros...will go back and monitor my BT and prata again
SRC Member akahoshi Posted August 29, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 will if it is true that your BT eats prata, then you really got to choose whether to sell your BT or your prata lor..
Kojek
Some do, if you do not feed them with enough food , and if a coral is not doing too well... it becomes another form of food source. cheers
