The chinese will do anything to earn that extra money....ever heard of some of the things they have done as they were reported in the local newspaper and told to me by a local:

Spraying chemicals on banana to help it ripen faster. One may think that fruits or vegetable with outer skin or 'coatings' are safer.

Forced feed pigs with sewage water to make it weigh heavier before selling.

Heavy metals found in 'hairy crabs' after using water from unknown sources.

Selling fake eggs. :o

And many more stories.......

Oh my god.

Always got news abt China reg. food.....

Lucky S'pore quite safe........

Safe but still sometimes unsafe stuff still sold into market untill the authorities found out and then it is too late. Examples are some chinese medication containing too much mercury being sold for a period of time before taken off the self after testing proof harmful by the revelent authorities.

Best advice is to be careful of edible/application stuff from China. Even toys might not be safe as the colour dye they used may contain too high level of lead.

hmmm vegetable on the other hands are also getting not safe with the new tech....... hmmm.. wondering .. 10 yrs down the road.. a pill will be enough for all the human needs per day .. it freak me out ....... !!!!!!!!!!!!!
