Hi there...

Am just wanting to check out if anyone here has gotten the new Teco TR models, TR10, 15 and 20 rated for tank sizes from 200l to 1500l among the 3 models.

Surprisingly all these models cost less than a grand (due to reasons i'm unsure if i should specify)...nothing bad though, still comes with a 1 year warranty. But under a grand for a teco chiller sounds like a pretty good deal.

Just wondering if anyone out there has bought one of these units? And if so, how's the performance of the unit. They were on showcase back at Aquarama.

Anyone?

cheers,

Kenny

U mean those Teco models that looks sleek like acer cpu, with inbuilt UV under a grand?

I don't know about built in UV etc but the units were showcased at Aquarama, if i'm not mistaken over at Aquatechnics booth....

But yes, they are supposedly all under a grand...

Unfortunately, i haven't found a website that showcases these units though. That's why i was lookin to the boards to see if anyones got them yet....

Last tried calling the agent and seems like they are not that willing to carry the product and "indicating" of reliability due to made in China.

Not sure why.. I don't think made in China is an issue rather the new design is not proven unlike the current Teco series.

With agent not pushing it, not sure if it is worth to try it now. But then again, if no one try it now... when can we know if it is as good as the earlier model???

Good point....i mean if you think about it....the price is very attractive and it still carries the Teco brand name so i doubt it could be that bad.

This sorta ends up in a vicious circle then, ppl not trying it cos it's not proven, and it's not proven cos not enough ppl are trying it.

There must be someone on here that has bought the unit...it seems unlikely that no one has bought one yet...so, whoever u are...now's the time to speak up :)

Isn't the price the same as these models...if i'm not mistaken, they cost probably more? I thought these units go for over a grand....do correct me if i'm wrong though cos i haven't really done much research on PCs...

Besides...i much prefer the aesthetics of the Teco model as opposed to the PC and if they cost around the same price, u have to admit, Teco's name kinda outweights PCs.....

During Aquarama 2005, I've spoken with the rep from Teco about the new chiller. The 'Silent' function apparently will quieten down the fan noise but the chiller performance during this function in operation will lessen by quite a bit. He says that this chiller may be placed in the bedroom. The UV however is an accessories which need to be purchase separately as I was informed.

I was wondering why the local agent was not present for Aquarama 2005.
