Wonder how u guys scrape off these

Any ideas of how to scrape those green algae on the glass tank.. pls suggest. thnks.

I use my old SAFRA card... some people use razor blades, very effective but dangerous to yourself and to the silicone..

Can use a plastic srubber for such purpose, cheap. Ppl use real razor for tough glued thingy.

Mag scrubber can remove lose and new thingy only.

use scrapper (those who had back handle and a piece of metal).... since it near the silcon area ....be very very careful...i have tried credit cards etc etc after my dad introduce me these...works effectively....

If in those hard to reach places. Tie a piece of those green wool to a long stick with a rubberband. I do mine this way and it works.

You can use a long plastic ruler..

I use filter wools. They are very effective cos they also trap the algae in the strands of wool. Good when used with hand for accessible areas. Not too sure about areas that hands cannot reach. For such areas I use a magnetic cleaner.

Just wanna know is there a common name for this kind of algae? Wat are the causes apart from too much nutrients? Will lite which is of not enuf intensity cause this?
