was jus playing around with the weipro outlet as the previous method of using some filter wool wrapped in a filter bag didn't quite work.

The old method, after a few days, the whole bag becomes absolute dirty and it gets clogged with dirt... this then creates a back-pressure which pushes out even wetter skimmate(like as though the outlet valve is slowly closed, which then led to spillage on the floor).

As I don't have a sump, the weipro is hunged on, so a considerable amt of microbubbles floats all over the display tank. The new implementation is a great hack... I don't know how it works, but it jus works. ... I get consistent amt of skimmate every day( unlike the old way, it is always different amt depending on how clean the filter wool/bag is).

I connected a cage-like outlet... the picture explains best and the bubbles jus remain inside, none escapes the cage. I'm not sure how it'll work with those not using a weipro.

why don u just use the sponge thing that came with the weipro?? Oh.. u using macro... hm...

what you can try is to let the macro output into a PVC T-junction pipe which in turn acts like a bubble baffle...of sorts...

something like this... I use this for my overflow pipe... cuts out abt 1/2 the bubbles coz I using too small a diameter...
