dear all,

i have heard this comment again from 1 of the LFS shop assistance (not the boss). this poor guy just bot an achilles tang.

IMO, this is not true! it depends on the species type rather than the price. sometimes, a cheap fish can be more hardy & less white spot/ich problem than an expensive one. e.g between a damsel & a tang.

other experience reefers pls correct me if i m wrong.

thought i share this with everyone, especially those newbies.

cheers

p.s. i'm not going to name the LFS.

Well, there is one way to proof that theory wrong. Buy an expensive fish and throw into my tank. :P

IMO, the theory that expensive fish will not get white spot is wrong. If the water within the tank contains white spot (like mine), any fishes added will get white spot initially.

However, I do agree that sometime getting slightly more expensive fish helped. ie, paying slightly more to get a fish that is disease free and already feeding. They can be fed garlic to help them resist white spot.

Hi Bro.

The guy in the LFS "theory" is like

1. buy an expansive car and you will not crash

2. fly business class and you will not encounter crash

3 hv ###### with an expansive pros you will not get AIDS

and the list goes on ....hahahahahaha :D

hahahaha bro well said....good comparision.

the livestocks pricing is practically based on the 1. demand, 2. supply, and transition & other fees.

Unless there's a LFS which sell a same livestock as others but more expensive, and its for "proper" quarantine costings. Well, I don't think such is being practice by LFS.

If do, then it will improve the fish survivability, but definitely not "will not get ich".

Actually like all other bros have mentioned, this sort of midset is wrong (naive too)

In fact, fishes like AT are one of the hardest to maintain of all tangs and would die under improper care ;)

If you are a good person, kindly correct the LFS of this thinking

No really, I am serious about this :nc:

Even if we reefers do abstain from impulsive buying, we must also stop the LFS from killing them right? ;)

Try telling those Indonesian fisherman to stop "harvesting" corals. Try banning cyanide from being used for catching fishes around the world. Put a stop to cyanide fishing activities. Its bad the the LS right? Lets stop the sources from the LFS?

Its a vicious cycle, BH.

Nevertheless, I do encourage you to do what you think is right. Just that my "right" and yr "right" may be different...

To stop LFS from killing anything would mean to put them out of business.
