Bros, can tell me what you all mean by mushrooms and yumas? Coz i see these terms being used and i seriously can't tell the difference in the pictures

My conclusion from what i read is that mushrooms are used as a general term for ric. yumas and discomas. whereas yumas and discomas are more specific to species.

Anyone can post a pic to clear my doubts? I can tell the difference between ric florida and ric yuma though. :D

Your conclusion is right!!

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

Ric Yumas and F. Rics have 'pimples' on them.. Some mushroom (In this case means the rest of the mushroom family) have only 'white heads' (small bumps) or look 'hairy' and some smooth surface.

The 1st and 2nd pic in Blueheaven signature is a yuma.

The 3rd is a Disco.

Ricordea is the genus. Under this, the 2 species we often encounter are R.florida or R.yuma. These 2 species share some similarities in morphology and that is why they are under the same genus.

Discosoma is another genus (just means a separate group) due to differences in morphology.

Both the Ricordea genus and the Discosoma come under the family Corallimorphidae (which covers all the mushroom corals).

Always something more important than fish.
