I have been trying many times keepin Hammer/Frogspawn & Torch but always die after a week or two, longest 2mth. I placed them in medium flow areas, enough lights and I feed all my corals often. The rest of the corals are doin fine and I can't understand why these three corals always fail me. Hope anyone can explain why. Thanks.

:o Don't buy any specimen that have damaged branches or where the tentacles is damaged or you see some brown jelly-like substances tangling.

In addition, even with good specimen, the process of transporting and handling it at homeare also critical. Do not hit or touch the tentacles cos' once damaged/hurt, brown jelly will surely developed soon after & then you will  .

Good luck.../

Used to have beautiful pcs with me but also facing same problem...one by one they start to strink and then...gone for good  ....not using a chiller, only fan to cool down the tank... now still have one struggling...most of the kakis said that these are pretty hardy corals but not so true here...maybe water quality not best yet..

proper acclimitisation would also contribute...

it may the the rise and fall of your temperature with the fan that leads to its death

yupp..and good water parameters is a must

lighting also is a factor

my frogspawn got hurt once when i was doing a rescaping with my liferocks..

it was doing fine after that and now it blooms bigbig for me everytime i on the lights

:o yeah one more thing...once you have set the coral in its proper place, don't attempt to disturb/unrest it by relocating again. Otherwise, u may stress ya GEMS... ;)

Temperature set at 26 degress. How not to move them around if after three days still not blooming to it potential? Now I have not move it for 3 days already and I wil leave it till it die or live...

:o if you see green jelly oozing out from the flesh or tentacles...I think it's time to prepare it for burial... :cry2:

i think most of the reefers had explained the cause of the fatality...IMO, water parameters plays a major role, theres once i had high PO4 and corals started to shrink...so take note of these....hope these helps! ^_^
