Hi all. Yesterday morn when I woke up, I found that my cleaner shrimp molted but could not find it anywhere. It's shell was on the rock just above the anemone where my golden maroon clown resides.I fed the shrimp just the night before...Still missing today so I presume most prob dead.

I suspect that it was attacked after it molted and maybe fell into the anemone or was eaten. :( . It was abt 2 inches in length..

I am thinking of getting another shrimp but does anyone know how to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

FYI My shrimp has molted before and nothing happened to it..Why this time so suay?? :( ( My golden maroon is arn 2 1/2 inches long)

hmm..most probably its hiding

after the shrimp motled..it will go into hiding

wait for a couple of day more and try to spot it

the purpose of leaving the moult very visible to you (and other fishes)

is to use it as a diversion, as it hides and wait for its new "shell" to strengthen

as to avoid attack from other fishes :D

got this info from a fellow reefer..so i may not be 100% accurately correct

but..

like what reefer usually say

Just My $0.o2
