Thanks for the compliment

Didn't notice my nick has an underscore though

Anyway, I usually take pictures using macro mode on my DC

I found that it is good to zoom in to maximum focus and then zoom in a little more

I also use focus lock, which means the camera will not auto focus when I press the shutter B)

For moving pictures, I use shutter priority mode and set the shutter speed to about 1/20 and turn on multi burst to infinity

And for full tank pics, I use aperture priority and shoot without surrounding lights

A good tip is to try not using any flash when shooting as it sort of makes the picture fake

Wouldn't ISO 400 give you a lot of noise?

For my non-DSLR, A95. I find that I can take better photos by Setting ISO to 400 and shutter speed to 1/100.

hmm ... i had not played with the ISO ... will try tonight to see result :P

when i take under a actinic lighting, the surrounding is always blue.

how to get rid of the blueish from the surrounding???

see my tank pic for example

Zephyros Den

cheers

its usually more difficult to get the blue captured. If you dun wan the ambient blue, try switching on the flash...most likely the flash will override the blue light already

No choice leh.

The camera wont focus if I have low ISO and no flash. :(

wont focus? maybe its not bright enough for your AF to work since u off the flash

trying switching on all your lights and house lights to brighten the tank if you only want to capture using high ISO...hope this helps in your AF

If you do not want the blue or if the blue is too intense and is different from the original image, you might want to change your white balance setting.

You can try by placing a white card into your tank and set according to the card.

Or if your camera has colour adjustment, you can adjust it to suit the correct colour B)

And for those who love macro shots, try to play around and master controlling depth of field B)
