SRC Member soggy Posted September 14, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 i've read somewhere that livestock shouldn't be added all at once or rather, livestock shouldn't be introduced too many at one time. so i'm just wondering, what kind of timespan in between the introduction of livestock we're talking about here. and how much at one time. thanks. SRC Member IcecruncherZ Posted September 14, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 I dont think theres a fixed time interval and number involved in addition of lifestock... Sometimes we are compelled to add more than 1 fish at a go: eg when adding 2 zebrasoma tangs or even 2 dwarf angels together, because it would be Very difficult to add another once the first one is well established. Also, you cant just be buying 1 coral after spending 50 bux on cab fare into places like L*K 1*0... So I guess buying wisely would be more appropriate. Leave more space in btw if you add many at a go. And space may and best means months.
SRC Member killfire Posted September 14, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 Hmmm... or should it be add life stock after cycling.. .test water parameters... wait until tests return favorable results before adding further life stocks...?? I think setting a time period for example 1 week per lifestock is pretty speculative.... Experts, your opinion pls...
SRC Member Clownfish Posted September 14, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 maybe u wld like to follow this guideline: (normally pple will 'overstock' a bit since got DSB, skimmer, etc. ) water with surface area of 1800cm sq can support one 15cm marine angelfish.... SRC Member IcecruncherZ Posted September 14, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted September 14, 2003 Killfire> Cycling is a must. There is no way you can add lifestock successfully without proper cycling Clownfish> Where did you get that guideline from? Surface Area of 1800cm sq will come from a tank of lets say 2 X 1 foot. How can anyone squeeze a 15cm Angel into such a small tank?
