I don't think it is bleached

If it is bleached, you can still see the tissue

More like tissue receeding to me ;)

In the second pic, you can see the bare white skeleton with the little "pores" made by the polyps ;)

IMO, the best way to save a coral from further recession is to frag it :lol:
