PH of my water just wont go up?

I have been using Aquapharm buffer 8.3 for almost 4 days....PH now is still ard 7.8 no change

why is this so? are there any other things affecting it?

yo bro used to have the same problem as you , read carefully and it say it raise ph from 8 to 8.3 so i empty my bottle then also still 7.8 now i switch to seachem buffer 8.3 .

it better as there some trace elements in there and most impt it raise my 7.8 to 8.3 ph hope this helps ya

think the aquafarm only condition the ph 8 to 8,3 and does not help to raise much ph

I also have Reef Carbonate .... i got a bit confused are they doing the same thing raising PH?

wat ur kh? and wat time did you do your test?

If rising your carbonates (alkalinity) to say > 10 dkh, and u still have 7.8, then it times to look around for other reasons :

- a consistently low pH, can at times be attributed to the surrounding CO2... (air the room the tank is in)

- a very dirty tank, lots of decomposition, acids created by bacteria to break down source

If ur ph ranges btw 7.8 to 8.2-3 within a day, then its fine.

Maybe your tank water is not well aerated?

Have you ever chk on new\fresh salt water?
