Hi can any one enlighten me on this. Will running more rowa than the stated vol. of tank do any harm? And if some rowaphos media are escaped into the main tank, is it ok to leave it there or must remove. Its all over the tank, on sandbed and on LRs.

How did you rowaphos manage to get into your main tank?

Usually, the rowaphos should be putted in a stocking or a FR. Once the rowaphos has absorbed too much phosphate, it will start leeching it back to the tank. So it would be better for you to remove it.

rowaphos shld be introduced slowly, much lesser than the recommended stated amt. the amt to be increased shld be gradually increased over a gradual period of time.

too sudden a drop in PO4 might hv adverse effects on ur corals.

Is it suppose to leech back once fully absorbed? Thought it is not suppose to?

Nope, Rowa will not leech back what it has absorbed.

Iron base phosphate media will not leech back once fully absorbed.

How did you rowaphos manage to get into your main tank?

Too eager to run my FR that I greedily put in all the media into my FR thinking that I could run it longer compared to having it half filled. And when the pump 600L/hr kicked in, only saw brownish SW flow out. Having read from old tread that this is normal for initial run which will clear up in no time. I left it running for a while. Only when the tank cleared then noticed the media had been pump into my main tank. Will be rescaping my tank this weekend and will try to clear them out as much as I can.
