Hi Guys,

Anyone know what is happening to this Sponge, it got a layer of something that look like wax over it. Is it dying ? Thanks.

I think it the dying tissues, you can try to cut the

effective area and cross you finger it will stop.

And dont lift it without water.

I read in a Marine Book somewhere that for this type of sponge, you have to make sure that debri etc. does not get trap onto the sponge. If it does, gently brush it away.

In your case, there is ALOT Of particles stuck on the sponge. Try ###### it away with a thin rubber tube. The condition of the sponge should improve, however no promises.

The brown part are tissues that had died. Try to place it at a higher flow area but not in the path of a strong direct current

And the way you see LFS pack the sponges for you, they don care about exposing them to air

Thanks guys, will try it out. Yes, it been exposed to air. Never know this sponge need special care, it looks easy to keep, should have done some research earlier.

Yea, put near stong current where it will keep the sponge clear of debris. Sld work as my seems ok so far. Cheers.
