Hi all experts here,

Recently my tank get invaded by these layers of "diatoms" or whatever it is, it covers most of my LR which originally have coralline algae, it even cover some flat surface of corals. It lloks like some sort of debris but I think it may be Diatoms, but still need help for identification

My water parameter are all OK except NO3 still around 50ppm!! :cry2:

My tank is coming to a year and I just change my Rowasphos today.

:thanks::thanks:

Hi,

Actually I clean every week, of cos not every corner!! :D

I wash my skimmer every week and change 10% water too. So if this is detritus, which mean my mechanical filters is not working wll then. :o

I had two Seio 1100 running opposite side, maybe the wave angle may not be rite? :(

bro dleecool,

i too think that your circulation is not good, therefore the detritus end up 'stagnant' on your LRs.

I suggest that you study your tank and see how your return pipe and wavemaker flow.

Your corals doesn't look right :( , doesn't seem open. probably due to poor water circulation too.

maybe you can describe or post your tank picture so we can like correct it :P

just my 2 cents :upsidedown:

Thanks bro Area51, :)

I think this happen when I tilted my seio1100 by using the part 6, initially was shooting into my front glass and get relected wave, now using part 6, have to shoot straight,so I guess certain part may not get the wave. :(

I am thinking of taking out every LR to clean up and rescape, but this is very siong!! :fear:
