woonming,

PO4 is not something I have tested, so pls don't ask for an absolute number, :) ; while yes, its very important to bring it down to as negligible as possible a level, it is also the basis of forms of life and it has to be present, incorporated into some form. I see some parts of my reef, having cyano... the dead corners esp, it is a concern as in, I'm sadden its not perfect yet; but it is also tells me take things in stride, watch out for the telltale signs of excessive PO4, when corals stop growing, colours dull and brown out, when they recede at the base, or algae grows uncntrlably... thats when something goes wrong with PO4 and its real bad.

All i'm saying is this is one of the hardest parameters to bring down, if not the hardest... too many times, ppl spend a disproportionate amt resources, chasing to bring the elusive PO4 to zero... when all it takes is some acknowledgment of what you want to keep, an understanding of where it comes from and how it works and you shd be ok.

This is a jus taken pic of my tank... notice the cyano on the corners.

(sorry if i rattled too long, jus wanted to point out, you'll need to know what you want to keep, its more impt than chasing numbers)

Would like to know how many reefers is having problems with high phosphate "PO4" in their reef tank?

Or feel free to share which other parameters you seem to have problem maintaining it example like Ca, Kh etc.

;)

I dump in 4L of Rowa phos into my sump baffle plates to solve my phosphate problems:) Very effective.......I dont use FR.
