SRC Member klim Posted August 10, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2005 Hi Bro, I am running a 4x2x2 with a 3ft sump... As I understand that Resun CL450 can support up to 700L if running at 25degree. Do you think I can used it for my tank? Or should I get higher, ie CL650? Pls advice.. lightningstrike
frankly speaking, i seriously doubt a resun CL450 will be able to cool down ur tank to 25 degrees........ and if it really does, god knows how long ur chiller will be running at one go. much depends on the ambient temp, ur lighting conditions and other heat loads, etc...... SRC Member hotlemond Posted August 10, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2005 those figures you see on thier instruction manual are only theorically. they do not consider your ambient temp, lighting and all other pumps. I am running a CL650 on a 3 feeter and i still think a PC 1/2hp is better for me. I guess your choice is clear.
SRC Member gods_angel77 Posted August 10, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 10, 2005 My Tank size 4Ftx2.5Ftx2Ft & sum tank 2.5ft x2ft x 2ft Bro will tell u frankly the 450 & 650 will not perform that good and take long time to cut in out which in short means you pay more lah I had use the Resun 650 & 1/4 Hp Arctica but found both the chillers to be not to my expectation. I.e. to remove 2 deg c within 1.5 hour with my 2x350 watts metal head lights on Finally use the TECO TW6 at this moment I think it's is the best chiller in terms of performance and cut in & and out timing Hope the above experience I had helps you Cheers
