Removal of Algae In Water Storage Container

Bought some water in those 25L container and notice that green algae had growth inside. Any bro or sis to advise how to remove these and I intend to buy some more really made water.

Hi bro,

Go get some playground sand, put it into container, add some water & shake like mad. Sand is abrasive so will remove most if not all algae. You could try use bleach & sand combo too. But rinse real clean after that. Btw you will need some patience to flush out all sand in the container afterwards.

won't that also scratch ur plastic?

Sure sand will scratch the container surface but only microscratches. Dun do on acrylic or clear materials but water container plastic is not so easy to rough up. Done many times over with my containers to rid algae on interior. Dun know abt using beans + starch or egg shells + water methods cos never tried.

Today, I had used some red beans with corn starch to remove the algae inside the contiainer and it worked. It had effectively removed 95% of them. Thanks for the advice.
