HTH 30 times! That is a lot. Can share with us what is the configuration you are using? I was planning 20x for my 4 feet set up and end up requiring about 12000 lph pump. Too ex for me so I have to settle for less.

SRC Member sugi Posted August 5, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 5, 2005 any recommended flow rate of a return pump for a 4 x 2 x 2.5 HT Go for Quiet one 6000 = 5800L/hour at 100W. Affordable and performs as good as OR6500. I have been running it for my 3.5x2x2.5 for 10 months. So far so good. Output very storng. Best if you can use 2 of them and 1 of the pump T-off to chiller then to main.

THought of changing to Quiet One, where can I source for it? anyone knows the place and px? That is 130W may be more for 3600 l/hour. It is a waste to run pressure rated pump for return. Quiet One available at many shops. Petmart, Ocean planet and many more. If you go for real Iwaki, they have pumps specialse for return. MD40RX => 85W for 4500L/hour. xpert1974
Thanks Sugi but the thought of changing to another new external pump, the process itself really daunts me. I am really afraid of flooding the whole floor......

TOM800 - 800G/hr - $50 2. Eheim 1626 - 4000L/hr - $200 3. SICCE 4000 - 4000/L/hr - $100 Which do you think I should get?

I still find Q1 the best.

lightningstrike
wa.. RD.. you must be rich man. .. wan god son wld u rather buy a pump that is not up to ur expectations and keep on upgrading? or wld u rather settle for the pump which u think it is the best out in the market and not lose sleep over it........ it's not a case of being poor or rich....... but IMHO, affordability vs reliability. btw, what's "wan god son"? SRC Member ozy Posted August 5, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 5, 2005 btw, what's "wan god son"? He meant if you are looking for a god son... So that he can acknowledge you as one. You have a point. But forking out a few hundred dollars for a pump is not something that most people would consider.
SRC Member hotlemond Posted August 5, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 5, 2005 but if you have stock up hundreds of dollars in the display tank, a reliable pump does make sense.
