SRC Member beaver Posted August 3, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 3, 2005 MH150W is good enough for lps and of course softies no problem OK, thanks! Does that mean its not sufficient for SPS?
SRC Member loster Posted August 3, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 3, 2005 u can only place them on the top level if you use 150W for sps

SRC Member beaver Posted August 4, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 4, 2005 Thanks! What is the ideal distance from water surface? Mine is abt 40cm. Is that too far?
SRC Member Lester Posted August 4, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 4, 2005 think height is a reali a problem.. read from somewhere that mh can shot thru the water for 5m.( do correct me if i am wrong ). hmm placing it too near will have water temperture going up veri fast.. hmmm 40 cm shound be ok
SRC Member minsmarine Posted August 4, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted August 4, 2005 only 1 MH for 3' is not advisable. Because, to cover whole 3', you need your MH to be mounted around 2.5 - 3" high from the water, mean light intense is no more. If you intended to keep LPS fine, definately for SPS. Tested MH 250w the best coverage is only 2'x2' which is about 1' from water. Quote Life is like a peice of Uncured Live Rock [ from LFS ], you never know what you gonna get.........
