guys,

I had an issue, my 2nd fish (a chromis) went MIA.

I had 6 of them in my tank and from observation, they

did not show sign of agression towards any individuals or

against other fishes. They were eating well the night before,

and the next day only 5 fishes came out.

Water parameters were fine. ( if water parm is the issue, I would

think that it shld affect all fishes right and the effect shld not be that

fast) No corpse or left over corpse was found anywhere on the

sandbed/overflow/sump/floor

Last night, I took a touch to shin after lights off and found nothing

unusual. I have three sally-lightfoot (crab) which I think is too

small to makan a 1-inch chromis :(

What should I do next? I was thinking of getting a trap to see if

I trap anything that I had missed out. But what trap shld i get?

Pls advice :(

:thanks:

:o Well sometimes fishes do disappear from time to time even when your water conditions are good & they appear healthy...I have encountered many times like these before. Well, such is the life cycle & mysteries of the complex Reef System ! ;)

the 6 chromis (now 5) had been together for 3 weeks.

No abnormal sign .. all 6 chromis is healthy and eating

the day before the MIA act. The sally foot's claw is too

small to have catch and hold on to the fish.

my guess is some uninvited guest, likely a mantis???

anyway, what trap can catch a mantis ???

thanks!

1 of my 2 algae blennies could not be seen for almost 2weeks! That was when I knew it was probably dead, somewhere in my tank. When I took out almost 80% of my rocks to do a rescape, I still could not find the body/bones.

Probably the crabs in my tank, just doing their scavanger job..

Just one of those mysteries..

None. As they are very sneaky fellas so it pretty difficult to trap them more pple locate them and bring out the LR to dry so it come out by itself or you seal up the hole or use a chopstick to kill them.
