MH problem

Hi Guys,

Need your opinion.

I once bought 2 sets of MH 150k bundled with 14000k phoenic DE bulb. Both were working fine for a month. Then one of the MH blows off.

As i bought it 2nd hand at Balestier, i thought maybe it was too old and decided to buy a replacement.I bought the same model and plugged it in. It was fine for a week till i receive a phonecall from my wife while i was at work and mentioned the other old MH blew off.

SO now, to eliminate the problem so to speak, i bought an ATMAN MG D1200 at pasir ris that comes with 2 MH DE 150K and 4 75k PL lights.

After getting the trouble to get a contractor to drill the ceiling (as it weighs 30k!) It was working fine till just now. One of the MH blew off again

It lasted for only one day man. *sigh .

Appreciate your views. Dunno whether is it electrical or not?

What do you mean overload? Please elaborate...you mean per wall socket? If so, one can take how many KW?

I mean do you use multi socket to plug both MHs together

did u use only one power point for your MH and the

rest of the equipment???

Hmm, the power socket consist of 2 power source.

1 for the atman light and the other source i use a multi plug for my refugium light and wavemaker 1100

good multi socket plug can take 13A

let say u have 2x150W with 250V, you I= 1.2A

Q: your bulb blow off or your ballast?

try plugging into another socket outlet for the mh.

MH n chillers shld nt share the same multi socket together..

it shld be plugged seperately into the wall socket..my 2 cents..

Today is my 3rd time tripping the MH...the hanger string inside the casing broke...the sparks was indeed very strong.

Blow off my 13amp fuse..

Luckily MH is okay and I am ALIVE...

The problems with the Atman mh is actually the bulb holders. Overtime (6mth or so), it tends to built carbon at the contact point. With this built up, it reduce the contact of the bulb n the holder.

So, with poor contact, the bulb will not fire up.....ballast wont be so easily spoilt.

You can try Chichlids World pte ltd ..Add is 11 Pasir Ris Farmway 1, Blk F3..They carry Atman MH.

from where you bought it, send it back to them.

I am sure they should extend this services to you. its not consumables item.

Sorry the ATMAN MH trip, but after setting back the Circuit Breaker, everything back to normal...

The only injury was the Extention Cord...it acts as ELCB also, therefore the 13AMP blow on the plug.

So far 3 times, experience of that due to the hanger string, the part where need to hide in the ATMAN light coil too long inside. Which I believed it touches the board or inside parts which produce a big Spark and trip the whole house.

Sorry dude, can't help u much...by the way, why not rtn it to the seller or LFS to have it checked out.

Pls dun be quick to condem China Product...they are up and coming...

Most of their product are quite good, although they copy others, but indeed some have to the extent work same as the original.

Western product also have their problem and issue...

An analogy would be:

Does SG loose to US compare of transportation, expert, millionair, equipment manufacture and etc? I believed you have the answer right!
