My banded brittle star is losing legs..why?

hi all,

my banded brittle star has been with me for 3-4 months and it is about 10 cm big..

Recently it refused to eat and it is losing its legs in small segments continuously...now all its legs are very short..

anyone noes what really has happen to it?

Do u hv shrimps, crabs etc ard?

hm..i got a hermit crab and a pistol shrimp..the shrimp is about 1cm big oni..

I have one which after put in my tank for one week, all the legs were broken and became quite short, it's already more then 1 year in my tank. Guess perhaps there were a lot of live rocks in my tank, movements were restricted, therefore it shortened its legs so to have more mobility.
