Changing a new filter

dun throw away everything inside, ie place the used biohome (if any) in your new canister. should u really wanna replace with new ones, then just do it by 50% or so as dun wanna 'waste' the organisms that has been residing in them. however, stuff like carbon, wool etc can be replaced totally since they have already absorbed all the dirt and toxic, dun wanna introduce them back to your tank. hope it helps.

rowa is use to absorb the PO4 in your water thus unwanted algae growth is avoided, but make sure u put the rowa in a filter bag b4 putting in the canister.Carbon is to rid bad smell & make the water clear :)

I not sure of the price but a trip to petmart answer all your question. You can also browse SRC sponser Reef Depot website, they have a section for all these filter assessories.I think the correct term to use should be activated carbon instead of carbon, though in this case we are referring to the same thing, can anyone help to confirm this?

As for the canister,I think there should be a control valve to stop the flow in the hose b4 u dismantle the cover :)
