the flow rate to the chiller will play a part into the chiller efficientcy too.

Too slow the rate, make your chiller run short but tick off more.

Too fast, run long, but tick off less.

U must also take into acct wat lights u using cos mine is 3x2x2. Using 2 MH recently. Bill go up after i use the MH lightings cos water heats up. Maybe yrs 4 ft will not be so shiong as water more than my 3ft

650 is quater horsepower, one horsepower is 700+W, so assuming that your chiller run 24hr a day, than

24 x 700 / 4 = 4.2Kw x 0.18$ = 0.80$

on the box is written power 1/4 hp and also refrigerating capacity at 650w,

so is it 1/4 hp = 746/4 watt or 650 watt ?

i beleive the number to use for your calculation is 650W cos that's the power consumption

so assuming running 24hrs

its 24x650x30/1000x0.18=84bucks a mth or 2.8bucks a day

if one were to modify the temperature control with external thermostat probe insert into the sump or main tank, will it solve the constant on/off problem ?

if so which lfs provide such service and the cost ?
