maids issue, need "URGENT" help

Sometime the maids cannot set their priority straight.........They should be here to earn a decent money to support the family back home and yet some will just fall in love and got pregnant and end up being sent back with a baby inside......really sad that they cannot behave.

I had a maid that 'sidelined' in the middle of the night and was caught by me climbing over the gate and return only in the early morning. Worst, my cousin had a maid that brought a man into the house when the whole family were out for dinner and only to return to find a man inside the house. Police was called and the man(Bangaldeshi)was arrested. Of all the above cases, the maids were sent back with immediate effect. Maid's nationality wise, both the same and just make a guess.

A STAR Search finalist who got a bruising in a catfight with a fellow contestant 14 years ago, was in court yesterday accused of inflicting injuries on her maid, by kicking and burning her and more.

Former television actress Tracy Gao Man Hua, now a 42-year-old housewife, has been charged with five counts of abusing 19-year-old Yahya Herin Kartikawati at her Angullia Park apartment, off Orchard Road, late last year.

According to the charges:

On two occasions, Gao poked Ms Yahya in the back numerous times with a needle.

She hit her maid on the head with a high-heel shoe, cutting her scalp.

She kicked the maid in her back.

She applied a heated iron to her right wrist, burning her.

If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both, on each charge.

The case will be mentioned in court again on Aug 18.

Gao, who was from China, made headlines in January 1991, when she and fellow actress Talin Tuoya, also from China, came to blows at the then-Singapore Broadcasting Corporation's Studio Four.

They had been filming a pre-recorded segment for a Chinese New Year show and had apparently argued over standing positions on stage. Two months later, Ms Tuoya published an apology in various newspapers.

Gao was sacked by SBC in February 1992 on disciplinary issues. The actress, however, said she quit.

SBC said she had left a filming studio without permission. Gao said she had to go to the airport to meet a friend who was arriving from Paris.

In an interview, she said that although she emerged the winner in the brawl, it affected her career. She complained that she was typecast in flippant roles.

Regardless of nationality abt 90% of them are here to look for money. 10% just wanna fool around things like these are unforeseen at times and unfortunate event happens.

Words of advice to you guys who intend to hire a maid. If you feel that your agent are just giving you grandfather story then walk away don't waste your time there and always read the contract carefully. Keep in mind abt the clauses. If your maid starts showing disrespect reprimand her or contact your agent or replace if you have too. Dun give yourself reason as not much time or no time to go down to the agency tragedies can be avoided.

If you go to any agency and they say try this maid first ask them whether it is legal? Because let me tell you it is not legal by law! Why cause she is not employed under your name and in case anything should happen to her or M.O.M finds out during the trail period then........ you guys get the picture.

jus receive a bad news from the agent the maid that i had selected wont be coming so soon cos one of her relative died, gotta wait another few weeks. Haiz, gotta go agent and selected another one
