Refugium, to have or not to have?

hi guys,

i m going for a new setup of a 3ft tank, designing sump at the moment.

read articles on the advantages of having a refugium and also many arguement about it. therefore still cant decide whether to include it in my sump anot.

need some advise and suggestion, thx for the help..

IMO a successful refugium need a very long time to establish & become effective

Refugiums are good only when you know how to set them up properly and maintain them.

A refugium which incorporates a sandbed is even harder but its benefits are to be seriously considered

how should i set up the refugium? a seperate one?

what kind of mantainance i need to look out for?

read that a DSB in the sump is of no use as the area space is too small

to be effective. DSB is u want 1 should be in the main tank ... true???
