SRC Member ervine Posted July 17, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted July 17, 2005 i have a tuxedo urchin which helps keep my coraline in check... anyway bro, just like what they said, keep ur Ca, Mg, kH levels optimium, pump in some lights, get a coraline covered object (rock or whatever) from a fellow reefer, scrape the coraline off and dump it into ur tank to seed it... SRC Member KTLK Posted July 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted July 18, 2005 I'm dosing kalkwasser(cal),reef builder(KH) & Mg (All seachem)once every week in my fowlr & on my T5 blue lights for 8hrs/day. CA are spreading quite fast. But remember to dose them on alternate days,at least 12hrs apart.

slcw
coralline algae prefers lower lighting compared to bright lights. with good calcium levels. red coralline algae sucks a lot of ca from ur water. when coralline algae is exposed out of water and under strong lights, it will turn white.
