IMO, 150 should be more than enough. There is not much different between SE or DE except that DE need a UV glass

2ft cube with 2.5 sump

400w MH with 6 x 24w blue T5

Hydor wavemaker controller

Aquatronica controller

Daikin compressor with double coil

RM CR

H&S out sump skimmer

ok guys,need your help here.i intend to keep LPS and softies and a few clams in a 2ft cube tank.i was thinking of 250w MH but is afraid it might be too much for the mushrooms.should i opt for 150w instead?And should i get the DE or the SE MH?

:thanks::thanks:

hey if you really want to have mushroom and you want to use a 250watt of light... place the mushroom near the bottom of the tank and that might help.......... ;) my 2cents.........

What kind of clam you intend to keep, maximas especially ultra grade ones....... MH with 250watt and above is recommended but for squamosa or lower light demanding clam 150 watt will do........... But if you really want to try out 150watt with ultra maxis.. put the clam near the top of the tank
