Imho, he's been in decline for the past couple of seasons; plus the yearly "should I go to Real M or should I stay" episodes really taxes the fans and manager alike.

Don't think thats a good role model for the young players.(eg Ashley Cole)

Plus I think AW feels that to win the CL, Arsenal needs to shake up the format abit, Baptista is coming.

Anyway PV is 29 years old; if Arsenal don't cash in now; then when?

Next season is really going to be interesting :

1. Can Manu make it back? (i.e win anything?) If not; will AF get the sack?

2. Will Arsenal win the CL? / EPL? (Will they change their style of play? - definitely)

3. Will Chelsea win ugly again? - 12 1-0 wins, Jose M playing dirty tricks again (oh he just did that with the FA)

4. Will Lpool retain the CL?

5. Spurs make it in Europe? (They seem to be keen on collecting every available young English defender in the mkt).

5. Manu vs Spurs (will it be 0-3 to Spurs at HT and 5-3 to Manu FT?)

As a Arsenal fan, I think they have a tough year ahead.... especially if Pires leaves...

Its impossible to compete against the sugar daddies's clubs in Spain and Italy

and now the russia's plaything who paid riddiculous price for players

Maybe PV4 is on decline or no longer hunger for success with the Gunners

so this is the right time to cash in on him

actually very ture that partick was declining... it was very obvious that his passes are not that effective anymore, his vision particularly. he's not that motivated to chase after the ball anymore too. the only thing is his tackling. thats the only thing that's still there.. those bone crunching tackles is what i won't forget. but nvm, he's becoming an old fart so time for cesc and whoever else to mantain control in midfield..
