Noisy water sound...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just powered up my new 4ft today and realised there's loud water noise that goes blop blop blop comming from the base of the tank where the drain pipe(pipe dat goes to the sump) is.

Notice some of the farms have this little basket there covering the pipe. Is it some kind of noise reduction or is it just there to prevent fishes from getting sucked out??

Have been wondering cos my partition in the tank is 9"x4" and have loads of bio ball inside. Just wanna check things out b4 i go ahead with the work.... :(

Rgds

Tak

Woot!! thankx for the reply.

The pipe in the pix looks cool but too bad my drain pipe in the tank is only a short stub. Bio ball chamber is only an inch above it... zzzz.

Guess i need to come out with some invention to minimise the noise. Thinkin of hanging a small strip of filter wool there, donnoe if it will work anot... :pinch:

:thanks:

woot! Thanks bro... anyway i tried something. Now the sound is almost not there already.

I use a statness steel bicycle spoke twis it into a cross. Tie a strip of filter wool on it and hook it in the nouth of the drain pipe...

No digicam so i drew it out.
