SRC Member FelixSu Posted July 11, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted July 11, 2005 Hi all, I just purchased a CL280 chiller, and purchased a Dymax eph2000 to power the chiller. have placed the powerhead in the tank. Everything is running smoothly, the water flow through the power head is excellent. However, there is this crackling sound, as if it is choked or something. When i disconnected the hose leading out of the powerhead (in the tank) the crackling sound stops. Does that mean that the powerhead is too strong? Or is there something wrong with my plumbing? should i shorten excessive hose lengths? from the looks of it, the max i can cut down is 10 - 15cm. The powerhead is brand new. Any help from anyone? thanks in advance!

SRC Member ervine Posted July 11, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted July 11, 2005 don believe that a powerhead can be too strong... if anything it might be too weak.. but is the crackling sound coming from powerhead or from chiller?

SRC Member Alvin Tan Posted July 11, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted July 11, 2005 bro...dymax 2000l/h too strong la..could be due to the pump as it suck it some object..can try dymax 800l/h...powering up a chiller using a strong pump takes more time 2 cool the temp...my 2 cents... SRC Member FelixSu Posted July 11, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted July 11, 2005 dont think there's any sand inside. brand new, since i attached the hoses, the noise is here. so is it too weak or too powerful? i think it may be too strong. anyone to back up this claim? thanks ervine, subxero and alvin tan for your inputs!
