Bare Bottom Tank

Need some advice from the experts....

I just started on marine aquarium not long ago...currently have a bare bottom FOWLR tank...but now thinking of adding in sand. Question is that I have couple of fishes in the tank....will adding in sand gradually affect the water condition, which in turn affect the fishes?

just rinse the sand well and add slowly.

though the cloudiness won't hurt the water or the fishes, maybe you wan to use a plastic bag to do the job.

Just submerge the bag to the bottom and pour out the sand slowly, that will create less cloudy water.

glad to hear that i don't have to go thru the whole recycling process if i want to add in the sand....lucky my fishes will not be homeless....

u could also use a small container (mug, plastic takeaway container etc) to place sand inside. invert the container only when u have brought your container to the bottom of the tank.

yup shouldn't be a problem.. just do it gently and make sure ur powerheads are tuned down before attempting anything.. if not sandstorm ahead for u
