In your case, I would suggest cover the spot with something, quite easy. Blocked the light to it, give it a go at least 1 week. Once you removed the covering, no more bubbles. Well, it may "revive", but I believe you can purposely place a cleaner critter on the spot try to eat them. My sea cuke seems help in it. Noted, the covering purpose is to prevent it from spreading on the spot.
