Hi guys,

Ok this is not for my fishtank but I guess some people might have done this for their fish tanks so might as well ask here..

I'm looking for portable power w/o needing to run a noisy and smelly generator.. I believe i can use an inverter and car batteries to do this.

Problem is where to get the components and how to size them properly for my application? (assuming I'm powering something like 500W for at least 2-4hrs)

Also, are there any dangers in using the car batteries and how do I recharge them?

Recommended to use deep-cycle wet cell instead of car batteries as they are not meant for deep cycling.

wah... where to get me one of those?

btw.. i think i might end up using a store bought inverter ###### battery charger in the end...
