It will not render it ineffective but more of not achieving its full potential

Its better to run it in a FR ;)

Halo Reefers,

As above. Can I just place the PO4 remover in a mesh bag in the sump? Will that render it ineffective?

Please advise.

Thanks a lot :)

Put it in between your baffle plates for better flow & effectiveness.........of cos if you got a FR that would be the best.

U mean it doesn't have to be submersed? I can just place it in between the plates and allow the water to flow through?

You got it wrong! you dont put your rowas on the overflow chamber.

Put it in between your baffle plates, it is the last few layers of glass before your return pump. The purpose is for preventing air bubbles from escaping to your return pump compartment.

I think better place it before your return pump. I have second opinion, mesh is quite useful too. I used to run it in FR, no tear it down as i find that after awhile the rowa fails to fluidise effectively. I think they absorb too much PO4 till they are quite heavy to "jump". Now using mesh bag. Every 2 to 3 days, overturn your bag should be enough.
